Harrisburg is just a few miles away from Junction City, so is conveniently located within easy driving distance of many recreational opportunities for families. Drift boating, water skiing, sailing, fishing, camping and hiking opportunities are all within 30 minutes; and our area has wonderful biking roads for both avid bicyclist and the weekend enthusiast. Within an hour and a half the beautiful Oregon coast awaits featuring huge dunes and magnificent headlands; and 2 to 3 hours away are fine snow parks for downhill and cross country skiing.
Dining and Shopping
Home to several great small restaurants and coffee shops! Directly between Junction City and Harrisburg lies the world famous Junkyard Dogs! Featured on the Food Network and home of the extreme burgers and brats.
Harrisburg has small “quick stop” grocery stores, but the bulk of grocery shopping is done in nearby Junction City or Eugene.
Parks and Recreation
Harrisburg is situated on the Willamette River and has a wonderful waterfront gazebo and park. The town has wonderful parks and local sporting events. Harrisburg is locally famous for their dramatic 4th of July fireworks show that is sponsored by the volunteer fire department.
As with many of the outlying small towns, many of the inhabitants of Harrisburg commute to Eugene to work. The drive is approx. 35-40 minutes to downtown Eugene.
