Incorporated in 1962, the City of Veneta is a thriving community of over 5000 people. This area was established by the extension of valley settlement. It now serves as a gateway to the Coast Range, wineries, farmlands, and Fern Ridge Lake. The City of Veneta is located 12 miles west of the Eugene/Springfield Metropolitan Area, in the southwest corner of the beautiful Willamette Valley in Lane County, Oregon. Veneta is located in close proximity to the Fern Ridge reservoir, and is only 45 miles from the Pacific Ocean and 90 miles from the scenic Cascade Mountains.
Dining and Shopping
If you happen to be in Veneta, you should stop and have lunch at “Our Daily Bread”. A local favorite, established in an old church. They have great food and service and you can’t help but enjoy the experience!
There are several restaurants and gocery stores in town.
If you’re heading to Triagle Lake, be sure to stop and have lunch in Low Pass at “Donna’s Country Cafe”. Down home good cooking and a right neighborly place to be!
Parks and Recreation
Home to Fern Ridge Lake (Resevoir) and the wonderful Triangle Lake, this area is never lacking for outdoor enthusiasts! If you love boating or fishing, this is the area for you. There is even a yaghting/sailing club!
There are local sports clubs for the kids both in and out of school.
Many people who live in this area commute to the nearby city of Eugene. About a 30 minute drive on most days, it takes you right along next to the lake for a beautiful view!
